Mt Aspiring National Park - Rob Roy Glacier walk - regarded as the jewel in the crown. This six hour excursion involves an hours drive to the northwest of Wanaka to Raspberry Creek carpark, followed by a four hour return trek alongside the tumultuous Matukituki River, up through the beech forest teeming with native birds, to the summit which is directly across the valley from the spectacular Rob Roy Glacier. Truly a walk not to be missed.
